NaNoWriMo16: Final Update

At 7:08 a.m., I finished my NaNoWriMo manuscript at 51k. I won’t say it was easy because it wasn’t. My wrist was giving out towards the end from typing as much and as fast as I was for those last 9k words. But damn, did that last bit need to be written! I don’t think I would have ever explored the scenes I did if it wasn’t for being the last day to write the 50k.

I ended up exploring some of the backgrounds of the characters in my classic fantasy novel. This led to me finding some things out about the world and the characters themselves that before were kind of just in a blend of my general knowledge, but now I have a very sharp sense of specific aspects that will aid future direction for the novel.

Thus, it fired me up to work on my fantasy novel (Stolen Control) in December.

December is going to be pretty busy. I have my birthday coming up in about a week and a half (turning a good ol’ 27), I want to get my short story either published or ready to publish in January using Smashwords as the platform.

I’m planning on purchasing Scrivener (50% off, which was one of my motivations to be so stubborn about winning this year lol) and that should help me a great deal in developing my fantasy novel, as well as a few other novels I have in the works.

Ah, I’m exhausted, but so excited at the same time. I want 2017 to be my year of publication. I won’t force it… obviously, otherwise these books would’ve already been published if I was that kind of person. But I do think it’s time and they’re close enough that with the aid of an organizational platform like Scrivener that they will be ready to transition into the next step of processing sometime in the coming year.

Also, I’ll be working on the blog in the coming months. I plan on sprucing up the website’s theme, learning more about WordPress, making a few things here and there, and putting together some useful and inspiring articles.

If any of you lovely readers have any requests about what sort of articles, resources, inspirations that you’d like to see or questions you’d like researched/answered; anything like that, please just comment below!

Peace ♥
